Covad Communications on Monday announced plans to reduce its workforce by 13 percent. The DSL service vendor said nearly 400 full-time employees in Denver, Atlanta, California, and Virginia would receive pink slips. Shares of Covad (covd) rose to 3.0937 in after-hours activity on the Island electronic communications network following the news.
