chief information officer (CIO) position, with the spot yet to be
filled.
Confirming the move in an e-mail to ZDNet Australia, a spokesperson for the university said the newly created position would be responsible for ICT resources, service delivery and partnerships.
It remains unclear whether the new CIO will report directly to Curtin's existing director of information management services, Des Thornton.
A spokesperson for the university was not available to clarify the role.
MIS Australia has recently reported that Curtin is currently involved in Oracle clustering and network refurbishment projects, including a rollout of wireless technology and a storage area network overhaul.
