Dabs.com's cable cut

Online tech retailer Dabs.com was knocked off the air on Friday by a 'broken cable', but hopes to be back up for the weekend
Written by ZDNet UK, Contributor

Internet retailer Dabs.com has temporarily gone off the air. The tech products site, which is one of the largest in the UK, experienced difficulties on Friday, but was expected to be working again over the weekend, said Dabs in a statement.

"We would like to apologise to customers who may have experienced difficulty in gaining access," the statement said.

Dabs attributed the outage to a "physical link breakage". Dabs did not say what caused the link to break. Previous causes of broken cables have ranged from Arson to dropped spanners and Shark bites -- although none of these are thought to have be implicated in the Dabs outage.

Dabs is a NetBuyer business partner.
