Two more great Aussie telecomms blogs to add to my growing list.

The first is a blog I'd heard existed but only found today.

In my time as a journalist in the Australian telecommunications trenches, I've seldom come across a speaker as entertaining as AAPT's regulatory affairs chieftan David Havyatt.

I regard David as a scholar and a gentleman and a quick look at his blog, "Anything Goes", confirms both.

Recent blog posts range as far as the writings of Ayn Rand, the relationship between sport and democracy and even national competition policy.

In recent weeks I've also been reading Laurel Papworth's "Online Communities" blog.

According to Laurel's self-written bio, (among other things), she set up convergent media for Optus, has run an Internet service provider and worked for Cisco in Asia.

She also likes chocolate! Clearly a lady after my own heart. Damn my growing waistline.

Laurel's clearly interested in the Australian telecommunications scene, as shown by her critique of some of the comments that were published by Telstra on its Now We Are Talking blog site about Optus director of corporate and regulatory affairs Paul Fletcher.

Laurel writes:

*sigh* A company's blog or forums are never about the company being able to put the boot into critics ... For Telstra to wage a personal attack on Paul Fletcher, well, very uncool.

Anyway, good to see the Australian telecommunications scene get some more bloggers!
