The Department of Defence has issued request for information documents seeking industry advice on potential Cyber Event Management and Reporting Systems for the government's information network.

The tender documents released late last week by the Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) call for vendors to express their interest in providing software for cyber event systems.

The software would be used within the DSD's cyber security operations centre to support the defence of the Federal Government's information networks.

The cyber security operations centre was opened in January this year.

The tender documents state that the system must be able to log and rank the priority of events on the network by source, target and level of success of the event on the network. The software must then be able to create tailored statistical reports of the events, according to the tender documents.

Submissions for this tender are due by 17 December 2010.
