The Dell Streak is now available SIM-free directly from Dell, priced at £449.
The device had previously been subject to an exclusivity agreement with O2 meaning that the Telefonica-owned operator was the only place to purchase one but Dell has revoked this in favour of selling the handset directly.
Contract-tied options are still available on a range of 24-month consumer and business contracts and start from £25 per month for data only plans, rising to £35 per month minimum if you want inclusive voice minutes as well as data.
O2 is also still offering the Streak on Pay-As-You-Go plans at £399.
Taking the SIM-free route and purchasing it directly from Dell for £449 allows the device to be used on any network but comes at a premium - £50 more expensive than the O2 PAYG version.
