Dell turns in another stellar quarter

Dell is continuing to wow analysts by chalking up another set of amazing figures.

Revenues rose 57 per cent to $2.4 billion in the fourth quarter ending February 2, and profits jumped 170 per cent year on year to $188 million. Sales for the whole of fiscal 1997 were up 47 per cent to $7.8 billion while income rose to $518 million, up 91 per cent on a year ago.

Michael Dell, chairman and CEO, said the company had had "an extraordinary year overall".

Dell stock grew more than 200 per cent during the year and more than 800 per cent over the last three years.
