Adorama, the New York City-based photography retailer and online superstore, has announced the launch of its new online video channel, AdoramaTV. The channel offers a weekly series of free educational videos, hosted by professional photographer, Mark Wallace.

The AdoramaTV channel will include four new shows a week: "Product Reviews" provides buying advice on cameras and camcorders as well as accessories such as tripods, lighting, cases, and other gear. Once a week, Product Reviews will also examine camera-related iPhone and/or iPad apps. "How'd They Do That" features interviews in which professional photographers and videographers (or the host himself) share tips and techniques for shooting like a pro. "Digital Photography One on On," answers viewers questions on digital still photography--recent episodes include explanations of depth of field (featured in the video above), aperture values, and white balance, for example. Finally, the "Behind the Scenes" show provides further photography and video instruction by giving viewers a backstage peek at the creation of AdoramaTV segments.

The shows will include episodes that range from basics for new photographers, to intermediate level shows and even advanced topics for professional shooters.  Wallace is a good host--he's had experience teaching photography workshops and hosted his own online video series before hooking up with Adorama, so he's adept at communicating photography techniques clearly and concisely. As of this writing, there are 14 shows available on the channel, and Adorama plans to add four new videos each week.
