Displacement theory

So, what better displacement activity than installing new software in Ubuntu?

Enter the SuperCollider. It's a programming language and environment for music (which incidentally my brother uses), and there's a fantastically easy installer for Ubuntu which makes use of gedit, the default text editor for the GNOME desktop.

SuperCollider for Human Beings

Not content with making weebly noises, I also installed the Oblivion dark theme, plus the very nice Advanced Editing Plugin.

My only real gripe with gedit is that moving between words can be a bit haphazard, ie the cursor can jump to unexpected places. However, I'm sure this is a User Error, and that it's all configurable ;)

Damn, now I'd better get back to my admin…
