Doctor sues over mobile irradiation

Cancer victim goes after Motorola -- alleging its phones caused his brain tumour

An American doctor is suing Motorola and US telco Verizon Communications for £530m claiming the companies' wireless devices have given him brain cancer.

Dr Chris Newman of Maryland launched the suit against the companies in Baltimore City Circuit Court even though the US Food and Drug Administration says there is no evidence that radiation from mobile phones poses a health risk. It concedes also there is no proof that mobiles are risk free.
