Doctor's Companion bashes disease online
Doctors in Britain will have access to the latest specialist information on rare diseases and treatments worldwide thanks to a PC system, dubbed, the Doctor's Companion.
The new product has been developed by Mitsubishi Electric in conjunction with BT, medical IT communications specialists, Trident Health, medical publishers, Healthworks and Practice Resource Systems. The system includes a PC that enables all trusts, health authorities and GP's to send and receive medical information to others through the NHSnet, a nationwide secure internal network managed by BT.
The Doctor's Companion costs £2,750 per user with a rental option from £80 a month.
