Internet community site Dobedo.com is closing down its operations in London and focusing its operations in Stockholm. The Sweden-based company is also laying-off staff from its Stockholm office, according to Scandinavian newswires.

Another community site, Snowball.com, has also announced cut-backs and is axing 20 per cent of staff in order to streamline its operations. The US-based site went public last summer but has seen a slump in its share price from $20 to just 12 cents. Further job losses have been announced by Swedish internet consultancy Icon Medialab, where 35 staff have been made redundant - cutting the total workforce by six per cent. Icon Medialab confirmed the redundancies do not affect the company's London office. Sportus.com, a Sweden-based online sports goods retailer, is closing down all its offices in Finland, the Netherlands, Norway and the UK to concentrate its efforts in Sweden.
