DWS managing director and CEO Danny Wallis announced the new joint venture — Borealis DWS Consulting Services — at the company's annual general meeting today, stating it would be a win-win partnership for the two companies, and for major Australian companies that currently use Borealis' products.

"To date, DWS has had limited exposure to the mining sector, and this partnership will certainly give DWS great exposure to this growing industry," he said.

Borealis currently provides CSR and environmental impact-management software to companies primarily in the mining and energy sectors. Wallis said that DWS' experience in consulting made it an ideal partner for Borealis, which is experiencing strong growth in those industries.

The venture will be owned 50-50 between DWS and Borealis.
