The multi-millionaire CEO of eBay Meg Whitman has donated $30m to Princeton - the college which she graduated from - in one of the largest corporate donations ever from a female executive. The fund will be used to set up a new college - to be named after Whitman - offering places to 500 students each year. According to Californian newswire Siliconvalley.com the move is the greatest single increase in Princeton's student population since the enlightened institution began accepting women in 1969. Meg Whitman has been CEO of eBay for three years and her stake in the profitable company is thought to be worth in the region of $600m.
