In a note to subscribers yesterday, editorial director Alan Zeichick announced that the Eclipse Review magazine was being canceled:

"After publishing Eclipse Review in 2006, we have decided not to move forward with the magazine. While the publication received an enthusiastic response from readers, we determined that a printed magazine wasn’t the best way to provide technical information to enterprise Eclipse users."

There were 4 issues of Eclipse Review published in 2006 on topics such as rich clients, web tools, must-have Eclipse plug-ins, and Eclipse running on cell phones. Subscriptions were free, and as of this writing, all 4 issues can still be downloaded from their web site.

BZ Media, the publisher of Eclipse Review and SD Times "remains a staunch supporter of the Eclipse Foundation". For example they still publish a monthly electronic newsletter called EclipseSource and produce the EclipseWorld conference  for Eclipse users. The next conference is scheduled in Reston, Va., on Nov. 6-7.
