EE is first UK operator to support BES 10

The UK's only national 4G network, right now, will also be the first to support BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 for its corporate and public sector customers.

EE is the first UK network that will support the BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 (BES 10) features of the BlackBerry's new platform .

Corporate and public sector customers will be able to sign up for the service from 2 April, BlackBerry said.

The BES 10 service allows business customers to manage BlackBerry devices running the BlackBerry 10 operating system, its PlayBook tablet and a fleet of iOS or Android devices.

One of the key features of the platform, and BlackBerry's strength in the enterprise market , is its security. In addition, BES 10's Balance feature splits personal and corporate data held on the phone into silos.

For example, users cannot copy sensitive work data from the 'work' section of the phone to the 'personal', and IT admins can safely remove all work data without touching personal content, such as photos.

Pricing on the EE network starts from £15 per month for 1GB of data, which excludes VAT for business customers. BES 10 price plans on EE include user licences, server software and dedicated BlackBerry support from EE, the operator said.
