Singapore - EMC Corporation today announced that it has partnered
Singapore-based National Computer Systems (NCS) to deliver E-infostructure, a mission critical storage infrastructure, to
companies in the South Asia region.
NCS, a regional IT service
provider and e-enabler, is the first Value-Added Systems Integrator
(VASI) in South Asia selected by EMC to be certified on EMC's
Enterprise Storage AssessmentTM methodology, enabling it to
conduct storage infrastructure studies, design and implementation techniques for
This, according to EMC and NCS, is a significant business development as in the
last few years, storage has gained prominence as a critical
organizational infrastructure, overtaking the importance of
servers. Dataquest estimates that by 2002, storage will be 80% of a
company's hardware expenditure.
NCS will implement EMC's range of enterprise storage
systems including Symmetrix and CLARiiON, storage management software,
networks and services across any computing platform and operating
system. When integrated into a information
storage infrastructure, these components make up the E-Infostructure
or Enterprise Storage.
