Enterprise 2.0 gets Quick'n'Dirty

The 2.0 Adoption council promises to bring together true enterprise 2.0 leaders and create educational tools for all.

We had a rare opportunity on the Quick'n'Dirty podcast yesterday to dig into the challenges of enterprise 2.0 deployment and, more important, finding out what goliath companies are actually doing by way of bringing progressive sharing technologies into their infrastructures. Appropriately, my guest co-host for this episode was Greg Matthews of Humana, who kindly replaced Aaron Strout as he continues his business travel. Our special guest was none other than enterprise maven Susan Scrupski, founder of the much anticipated 2.0 Adoption Council.

The 2.0 Adoption Council, of which Greg is a member, is described as "a peer-based, information-sharing private community interested in the latest concepts, best practices, case studies, and helpful tips associated with executing socio-collaborative strategies and projects in the large enterprise." Essentially, Scrupski is building a community of true enterprise 2.0 leaders -- requirements include being the enterprise 2.0 point person in a 10K+ employee company -- and will foster sharing of challenges and success among community members.

Scrupski talked about how there are a lot of opinions and misconceptions about true enterprise 2.0, but not a lot of great examples of what enterprises are truly doing. While the council is closed to all but a select type of member, Scrupski plans to make community research more broadly available so that others can learn from these companies.

Other segments of the show included:

  • Social Network of the Week: Curetogether.com, which helps people anonymously track and compare health data and make more informed treatment decisions and contribute data to research.
  • Featured Twitterer: Rick Murray (@rickmurray), president of Edelman Digital.
  • Point / Counterpoint: Greg and I discussed the Please Rob Me / Foursquare debacle from the last week.

To hear what we said about the above things -- and to learn more about the 2.0 Adoption Council -- be sure to listen to the replay or find us on iTunes.

Next Week: Aaron will be back so be sure to join us for the Stroutmeister / Mediaphyter reunion show. After two weeks of podcasting apart, we'll definitely bring the fun.
