Now here's one of the most practical ideas I have seen in quite awhile- a way to access most of your IMs over your mobile phone. Kind of like a Trillian for cell.

Now here's one of the most practical ideas I have seen in quite awhile- a way to access most of your IMs over your mobile phone. Kind of like a Trillian for cell.

The latest version of Java-enabled EQO Mobile lets you perform IM-related functions, but take lets you take and make calls on your mobile via Skype (introduced in February)- as well as a full set of IM functions over AOL AIM, MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Instant Messenger, GoogleTalk, and others as well.

EQO Mobile also adds facilitates web-to-phone, phone-to-web and mobile VoIP functionalities for members of such social network services as MySpace, Friendster, Tagworld and Xanga.

The latest build allows users to include a call back phone number or IM screen name as part of their EQO message. This function enables recipients to initiate a conversation using a click-to-call or a click-to-IM feature.

More than 300 handset models are supported, including those from Nokia, Palm, Sony-Ericcson, and Motorola.
