European Black-Hat Briefings cancelled

European anti-hacking convention is cancelled. Roll on Singapore...

Europe's very own dedicated security/hacker prevention conference, the Black Hat Briefings , scheduled to take place in Amsterdam on October 28-29, has been cancelled due to a lack of interest.

The Black-Hat Briefings invite commercial security representatives to attend world-wide meetings and lectures chaired by experts with first-hand experience of computer hacking. The Las Vegas Black-Hat Briefings helps fund the ultra-successful Defcon conferences that take place annually in the US.

A representative of one of the companies sponsoring the event, Security-Focus , is disappointed by the cancellation. "BlackHat is in my opinion one of the finer conferences on the circuit right now, far better than it's nearest competitors actually. We are all a little disappointed, but we are hoping the Singapore turnout is much larger."
