Evernote for iOS gets rich text formatting in latest update

Evernote continues to update their mobile clients to enhance note taking. The latest iOS version support rich text editing and more.

My favorite note taking and idea capture software, Evernote, has been seeing some major updates recently, including the big Android update that improved tablet support and added rich text formatting and the Windows Phone 7 update that also included rich text editing and checkbox support. Great news comes again as Evernote for iOS gets a major update that includes rich text support and much more.

This iOS update includes support for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch devices and looks great on all of them. Checkbox support isn't yet in iOS, but they are working on it. Other new features and functions include:

  • Access shared notebooks
  • Lock Evernote with a passcode (premium subscribers only)
  • Search within a single note rather than across all notes
  • New Slideshow view to view images in a note
  • iPad redesign with updated layouts

There were also improvements to speed and stability.

FYI, Evernote also released Evernote for Mac 3.0 that is designed for Lion.
