Excess semiconductor inventories fell 38% in Q4 2004, a surprisingly large drop that could ease fears of an ongoing oversupply, according to iSuppli. Surplus chips in the hands of manufacturers, electronics makers and others in the supply chain fell to $1 bln, below the estimated level of $1.
