Facebook has updated its native Android mobile app. You can grab version 1.6 now from Google's Android Market.
Here is the official changelog for Facebook for Android 1.6:
- Added Pages
- News Feed improvements
- Added the ability to upload videos
Facebook Pages are only somewhat supported. You can now click on a Page that appears in your News Feed and browse the Page within the app, but there is no way to quickly search for a Page. That means you have to somehow find it in your News Feed first.
The improvements for the News Feed are straightforward: it now loads more types of posts. This also means more posts can be opened directly in the app.
The biggest feature is without a doubt the last one on the list. Video upload means you can post films you've taken with your Android device's camera directly to Facebook without leaving the app.
Facebook for Android 1.6 requires Android 1.5 (codenamed Cupcake) or later. Some features, especially those that are more closely integrated with Google's mobile OS, require Android 2.2 (codenamed Froyo).
