in brief Following email threats made against a senior army officer and a Facebook "hate page", the NSW Police have laid charges against an ex-member of the Australian Defence Force.
The police have alleged that the ex-soldier sent threats via email relating to the officer's sexuality and started a Facebook group naming the officer and other members of the Australian Defence Force in what is alleged as an "attempt to identify them as homosexual".
The 32-year-old man was subsequently charged with a count of using a carriage service to threaten and using a carriage service to menace, harass and cause offence.
The man, arrested this morning at Surry Hills Police Station, will appear before court on 3 June.
