Federal IT spending to reach $75 bln in 2009

In total, during the five years between 1999 and 2003, federal government spending on IT increased almost $20 bln, from $38 bln in fiscal year (FY) 1999 to nearly $58 bln in FY 2003, based on OMB budget reports. Research company Input expects IT spending in the civilian and defense agencies will increase from the $58 billion reported by OMB in FY 2004 to nearly $75 billion by FY 2009.
