Financial sites a hit in new year

Financial Web sites received a shot in the arm during the first week of the new millennium as people flocked to the Web to check on their investments. Internet measurement firm Media Metrix Inc. reported major finance sites including Schwab.com and Morningstar.com experienced nearly 40 percent growth. Wellsfargo.com was the big winner with a 54 percent increase in unique visitors.
