Developers continue to fire away on new and existing bugs before issuing the first Firefox 4 Release Candidate.
To that end, the team now expects beta 12 -- likely the last beta -- to be available early next week -- Monday or Tuesday, top developers said during the daily Mozilla Firefox 4 meeting.
We "branched and built for beta 12 last night," according to developer notes posted on Mozilla Firefox meeting notes. "Nightlies will be frozen for a couple days on the beta 12 changeset to get additional coverage while QA qualifies the build."
Beta 12 has been delayed a bit but the number of serious bugs blocking its release has dwindled substantially. At least one Firefox developer noted that a beta 13 might be required if all the problems are not ironed out in time.
It now appears certain that Firefox 4 won't officially ship until March of 2011. The team originally expected completion by year's end.
