Three years ago last month, NTT DoCoMo released its 3G phone FOMA (Freedom Of Mobile Internet Access) mobile phone solution for a variety of applications including Internet access, e-mail, file transfer, remote log-in, and Internet phone calls.
Today, FOMA took a big step forward with NTT DoCoMo's release of the N900iL phone. The phone was announced in July but comes out now.
Working in conjunction with the Japanese telecommunication giant's PASSAGE DUPLE system for dual-network operation, the 120-gram handset can function both as a standard FOMA phone and a VoIP mobile phone. The VoIP mode is compatible with a corporate user's internal wireless LAN.
And with a recorded resolution of two megapixels, it takes pictures, too.
