Here at the Internet Telephony Conference & Expo in Miami Beach, open-source Internet calling solutions provider Fonality is showing a new offering called the Fonality VoIP Phone System.
Launched with Dell, the aim of Fonality VoIP Phone System is to make affordable phone systems for the SMB (Small Medium Business) segment.
There surely appear to be potential strength in numbers here. The Dell'Oro Group expects 35 million small bsuinesses worldwide to adopt VoIP calling within the next three years.
Many of those SMBs use Dell products, of course.
As you might expect, Fonality CEO Chris Lyman is pumped.
"Dell's customers will be intrigued by the 1-2 punch that Fonality delivers: first we have great features at a low price," he tells me. " Second, because of hybrid-hosted, Dell's customers can self install it and save a $5,000 truck roll."
One more thing Chris mentioned. Fonality VoIP Phone System is a competitive alternative to Unified Communications Services from major competitors.
Jes' so happens one of those would be Microsoft Office Communications Server
Oh, our solution has many more features than the version 1.0 OCS play by Microsoft.”
