This year at SpiceWorld 2015, I had the pleasure of meeting some of the finest people from the best companies involved in technology. One of those was John Newsom, CEO of Quorum, who took a few minutes out of his busy day to speak with me about Quorum, Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service, his OnQ products, and some announcements given at the conference.
The summary of what we discussed is outlined below the video.
The new enhancements for version 3.9 of Quorum's suite of products includes the following:
- Centralized enrollment capabilities, making it easier to deploy protection for a larger number of servers at one time.
- VMware vSphere 6.0 integrations including support for VMware vCenter and vMotion for agentless VM protection.
- Usability enhancements to speed onQ DR cloud portal performance and improve reporting capabilities.
- Addition of an Archive Vault Gateway, helping to reduce costs by allowing for the seamless use of existing infrastructure for archives.
The Archive Vault Gateway is especially intriguing because it allows you to use your existing storage infrastructure for archiving your data. This is a major feature because it frees you to use what you have rather than forcing you into buying another proprietary product.
OnQ Virtual Appliance
The OnQ Virtual Appliance allows you to download and test all of Quorum's features in a virtual appliance that mimics the functionality of the physical appliance. The downloadable appliance will be available in Q4 2015. The virtual appliance is a VMware image.
Quorum's products are now HIPAA certified, which means that they meet all federal regulatory requirements for medical data. Quorum provides healthcare organizations with a secure, accessible, and regulatory compliant solution for patient records and data.
Quorum provides assured instant recovery, and continuity, helping businesses safeguard their revenue, customers, and reputation. The award-winning Quorum series of appliance and DRaaS/hybrid cloud solutions makes continuity a reality for the midmarket, letting you recover from any type of disaster within minutes.
