Former IBM CTO Bill Bodin heads to Kony

With Kony, Bodin will oversee the company's mobile-focused technology roadmap as the company tries to expand its marketshare.

Enterprise mobility company Kony has snapped up former IBM mobile technology chief Bill Bodin to become its new CTO.

At IBM, Bodin is credited with creating networking and sensor technologies for digital home, healthcare and commercial diagnostic applications as part of IBM's Advanced Technology Lab.

With Kony, Bodin will oversee the company's mobile-focused technology roadmap as the company tries to expand its marketshare in an increasingly crowded enterprise mobility space.

"Of all of the major technology trends that have transformed the world we live in, mobile has and will continue to be the most disruptive," Bodin said in a statement. "While mobile technology has rapidly evolved in just a short span of time, I believe there is still tremendous opportunity to discover how powerful it is in impacting every aspect of the enterprise."

This announcement comes on the heels of Kony's partnership with IT services firm Cognizant to develop enterprise mobile applications, mobile app design, and mobile back-end services.
