After almost half a year of searching, Foster's has announced that it has found a new CIO who will start next month.

Foster's said that the successful candidate, Dean Matthews, had held senior technology and executive leadership roles at Transurban, MLC Lend Lease and Linfox.

"He is a proven CIO holding a demonstrated track record in leading large-scale organisational change having managed major IT integrations, acquisitions and other complex strategic projects," the company said in a release.

Matthews will replace Andrew Leyden, who left the company at the end of last year, leaving transformation director Donna Watts to fill Leyden's shoes in the interim.

Leyden had come in the limelight in 2006 when CIO Ian Farnsworth left, but was not named CIO until April 2009.
