It's not a myth anymore or an unreachable challenge. Each day more and more women are reaching high positions in tech companies or founding their own. One example is Kay Hammer, a linguistic professor of Iowa, who made the transition to software development, and today she is president and CEO of her own software company.

She is one of the 8 million women that own a company in the United States, according to WITI (Women in Technolgy International) Organization. WITI says that women-owned businesses provide jobs for more than 15.5 million people, and generate nearly $1.4 trillion in sales.
