Why go for a Windows 7 tablet when you can have Windows 7 running on your smartphone?
Fujitsu has unveiled the NTT DoCoMo's Fujitsu LOOX F-07C smartphone that comes complete with Windows 7 pre-loaded and a 2-year license for Office 2010. Fujitsu claim that this is the "world's smallest PC that fits into the palm of the user's hand."
Featuring a 4-inch SVGA touchscreen (1024 × 600 resolution) display, an Intel Atom Z600 processor running at 1.20GHz, 1GB of RAM, and 32GB of flash storage (and microSDHC card support), the F-07C can switch between 'Mobile Phone Mode' (Symbian) and 'Windows 7 Mode' at the touch of a button.
I've no idea what Windows 7 will be like on this hardware. I fear that it might be somewhere between abysmal and awful, but I could be wrong.
For now this will only be available in Japan (price is around ¥70,000 ($860). Launch is listed as July 23.
One drawback ... Windows 7 mode only gives you 2 hours of battery life!
