G8 and climate change

Is much expected from the G8 summit in Japan? Not according to the Aussies. The Canadian government doesn't foresee anhy progress on an agreement either. India's not a member of the G8 but as a major developing nation with a huge population it is at least politely allowed to speak. The Indian government sees global warming tied to energy and food prices.

There will be some finely worded pronouncement that all G8ers will nod toward and it will likely NOT tie any nation to anyting specific. Reuters is reporting the agreement to come out of the G* in Japan will call on the U.N. to work up an international agreement involving all nations in curbing greenhouse emissions.
