The first G8 technology conference, e-G8 Forum, will begin on Tuesday.
The e-G8 Forum event is designed to allow internet players in the public and private sectors to discuss the impact of the internet on the economy and society.
Speakers at the conference include French president Nicolas Sarkozy, Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg, digital agenda European commissioner Neelie Kroes, and Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt.
The members of the G8 are the UK, US, Italy, Germany, France, Japan, Canada, and Russia. The e-G8 is being held in Paris on Tuesday and Wednesday, and conference results will be reported at the main G8 conference Deauville in France on Thursday and Friday.
