Instat-MDR conducted a detailed analysis of data from the US Census bureau. The "Sweet Spot" for "="" class="c-regularLink" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">WiMAX (which Instat-MDR defined as places with housing densities between 4 and 1500 homes per square mile) accounts for about 74% of the US and would cost about $1.55 bln in infrastructure investment to access a potential customer base of 85.5 mln homes. On a per home basis, that works out to be about $18 a home, not accounting for any sales or marketing costs.
