Good Technology is rolling out two new services designed to deal with the prevalent BYOD (bring your own device) issue, but the motivation behind the solutions might be more telling.
Essentially, Good learned that customers such as Nationwide Insurance, UBS and Franklin Templeton wanted help accelerating their moves from BlackBerry to devices like iPhones, iPad and Android.
According to Good, many were originally planning for 3-year transitions, but later speeded that up to six months given the rocky future of Research In Motion.
Thus, Good Technology is now launching a pair of new services designed to meet this specific challenge:
- Good Transition Services: Targeted at existing customers with challenges around time, volume and resources who need help moving quicker. Features include predicting the number of personal devices that will need to be provisioned, recommending infrastructure improvements when needed, tracking end-user support requests, and overseeing the implementation in general.
- Good BYOD Policy Construction Services: Targeted at new customers who are just getting started with BYOD since there are so many factors to deal with. This approach includes tailoring a standalone BYOD policy to the organization’s culture and risk management profile as well as finding a balance between the security interests of the employer with the employees' concerns around privacy.
Both services are available immediately to businesses worldwide.
