Google confidence in the import of its advertising formula seems to be growing. While briefing magazine ad executives in New York City today about ways to spur marketers to increase ad spends, Eric Schmidt, CEO, said:
Eventually we hope that a targeted ad would be better than a targeted sales person, as reported by Reuters.
Perhaps Mr. Schmidt was not briefed that Google, itself, still believes in the need for sales teams, especially in NYC. Google is running a "Sponsored Link" for "Google sales jobs" that returns a Google sales help wanted notice proclaiming: "Join our fast growing Inside Sales team in New York. Apply today!"
