Google has introduced a trends feature, similar to that used in Twitter, to its Google+ social network.
The feature went live late last week. When a search is conducted in Google+, a list appears in the right sidebar, suggesting what topics are popular at the time.
For example, on Monday morning the list included Tahrir Square and Breaking Dawn. Clicking on one of the topics brings up various posts related to that subject.
Google is constantly adding new features to its social platform. The most recent major addition was that of access for businesses, which can now set up product and brand pages on the network.
