Google has ported its popular image organizer to Linux using a Windows compatibility layer called Wine. While Google Toolbar for Firefox runs on Red Hat 8.0+, Picasa is Google’s first major, standalone desktop-client release on Linux. According to the FAQ,
If Picasa for Linux is successful, then other Google applications (and future versions of Picasa) may also be ported using Wine. (Google Earth won't be one of them, though; it will be a native Linux application.)
Thanks to some helpful Picasa users I've uploaded a new Image Gallery for Linux Picasa. Enjoy!
