Google local chat

As soon as Google decided to let us make widgets for their personalized homepage, I have been busy making one of my own.  As they promised, it's as easy as walking the dog, and I have managed to make something fun that would have great potential with some work (and a lot more bandwidth).

It's called "Local Chat".  When you go to your Google Personalized Homepage, you will be greeted with your regular content, and a chat window, using AJAX, for your city -- or any other city you choose to "visit".

This is just an example of what can be done with widgets.  Google has a directory of widgets and other people have already made their own, like Niall Kennedy's "Technorati Mini" or this one by Philipp Lenssen which shows you Google's page count.
