Google on Tuesday said that it has named Ruth Porat, the current chief financial officer at Morgan Stanley, as its new CFO.
Porat had worked at Morgan Stanley since 1987 and held multiple roles. Porat has done everything from lead technology investment banking to counsel the U.S. Treasury to be CFO at Morgan Stanley.
The Google hire will start May 26 and report to CEO Larry Page, according to a statement.
Patrick Pichette, current CFO of Google, recently announced that he would step aside.
