Google spreads the love on Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day everyone!  Google has been celebrating Valentines Day this year by giving a couple of its services (Gmail and Webmaster Central) a little something extra.

As for Gmail, users can now sign up for the service without being invited -- even though this was falsely reported about a week ago, this time it's the real deal.  When the news first "broke", Canada was one of the countries still unable to sign up -- but now I can confirm that registering for a Gmail account is as easy as hitting "Sign Up" on the main page (no invite or cellphone required).

Today, Google Webmaster Central also came out of beta.  To help celebrate, they are allowing comments on their blog in hopes to improve communication with webmasters.
