A cybersafety film developed by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) to combat cyber bullying has taken out a New York film award.

The film, called Tagged, won the silver medal at the New York Festival's International Film and Television Awards. Senator Stephen Conroy, who launched the film in September 2011, has thanked those involved in the production of the film.

The film was made possible by gathering stories from a number of schoolchildren across Victoria, and some students were even featured as extras. Tagged cost $200,000 to make.
