To the delight of online privacy advocates, a new piece of software pledges to protect the identity of Web surfers from online marketing maniacs launches Monday.
The software, launched by Californian company Enonymous, works with any Web browser and doesn't actually hide a user completely but instead takes the ingenious step of separating personal information from contact details, thus rendering it useless to marketers hoping to compile an advertising and promotional spam database.
