Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) has appointed Neil Evans as its new vice-president and country manager for Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.
He replaces Neville Vincent, who became the general manager for HDS in Asia-Pacific and has relocated to Hong Kong.
Evans' new job will see him responsible for growing the business across his designated regions and taking advantage of opportunities present in various IT areas such as cloud and big data.
He joined HDS in 2007, and was most recently the company's regional vice-president and general manager for Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) before taking on the new role. Evans had also worked for the company across Russia.
Prior to HDS, he co-founded a management consultancy company in the UK.
"Neil is a highly successful general manager with a strong track record in exceeding revenue and profit targets in new and existing markets for IT, software and services organisations. He will be a great leader and addition to the Hitachi family in ANZ," Vincent said in a statement.
Neil's role is based in Sydney.
