From Thanksgiving to New Year's, US retail stores sold 24% more laptops than during the same period in 2003, according to Current Analysis. Desktop sales fell 7% in the same period. Those booming laptop sales drove the overall US personal computer market up 8% during Q4 2004, according to Gartner.
