The Honda hybrid CR-Z concept

Even though it actually introduced its first hybrid, the Insight, way back in 1999, one company that has held back on the electric vehicle front is Honda.

Instead, the company has placed its green bets on hydrogen-powered vehicles. Well apparently, Honda is somewhat relaxing that stance, planning to come out with both plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles by 2012. It will play at the low-end with the Fit Hybrid, which is being billed as the cheapest hybrid ever, and will appeal to driving nuts with a sporty coupe called the CR-Z.
