How to take great pictures of your dog

While I'm on the subject of last week's PhotoPlus Expo, the product description for a new photography book being promoted there cracked me up: PhoDOGraphy, by Kim Levin "combines heartwarming behind-the-scenes anecdotes with practical ideas for taking good, better, best photographs of our four-legged friends!"

While I'm on the subject of last week's PhotoPlus Expo, the product description for a new photography book being promoted there cracked me up:  PhoDOGraphy "combines heartwarming behind-the-scenes anecdotes with practical ideas for taking good, better, best photographs of our four-legged friends!" I'm not sure why you'd bother taking a "good" photo when you can take the "best" photo instead, but go figure.

Still, for all you canine-loving photo enthusiasts out there,  the book does offer some practical tips about composition and capturing movement and is filled with adorable shots from bestselling author (of Why We Love Dogs) and pet portrait shooter Kim Levin.
